Per poter raggiungere risoluzioni di posizionamento sub-nanometriche, è fondamentale avere familiarità con tutte le variabili legate al comportamento piezoelettrico quali gli effetti di linearità e stabilità. PI offre la più ampia gamma di controllori digitali e analogici per piezo che possono essere adattati per ottenere il risultato ottimale in ogni applicazione.

La calibrazione di tutti i sistemi piezo viene effettuata prima della consegna e ciascun sistema viene consegnato pronto per l'utilizzo. Ulteriori regolazioni e settaggio di parametri vengono effettuati in modo più opportuno con i controllori digitali. Sono disponibili importanti elementi quali le interfacce analogiche e digitali, il registratore di dati e la programmazione di macro.
