Florian Geistdörfer Becomes Chief Operating Officer at Physik Instrumente (PI)

On September 1st 2021, Florian Geistdörfer started as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the PI Group. Additionally, he became Managing Director of the new subsidiary in Switzerland, which was being founded at the time.

For several years, the Manager from Switzerland has been supporting the PI Group as an external consultant in strategy and business development. "I am very pleased that we could gain Florian Geistdörfer for PI. As well as his high-level of competency, he also ensures continuity and direct productivity by occupying these important roles.", emphasized Markus Spanner, CEO of the PI Group.

Florian Geistdörfer is responsible for the PI Group's new operating model, and for this reason, will be in charge of business development, process management & IT, quality management & integrated management system (IMS), supply chain management, finance & controlling and human resources. As the CEO, Markus Spanner has complete responsibility for strategy development, fusions and takeovers, and corporate communication.

Mr. Geistdörfer plans to orchestrate complete growth of the PI Group, which is being driven by megatrends such as digitalization and health. "I look forward to scaling and modernizing the processes, structures and systems at PI to reach our ambitious growth targets“, reinforces Geistdörfer.

Before starting at PI, the 39-year-old lawyer (LL. M. International Law) collected various experiences in management consultancy, as well as in financial services and the automobile industry. In 2012, together with other partners, he founded the Management Accelerated GmbH in Herisau, Switzerland where he continues to be a shareholder.
